Rap Artist/Producer Pat G Releases "New Day" Official Music Video (Directed by Jon Wolf)

Patrick Gouch was born in Hartford, Connecticut and grew up in rough parts of Waterbury, CT. At the tender age of 7, Pat G witnessed his mother’s murder and has used this traumatizing experience to fuel his hunger towards music. After his mothers passing Pat G moved around with different family members both in North Carolina and then back to Connecticut.

Initially, Pat was strictly into making beats until he linked with CT emcee Renzo and they formed a group called Trouble City. “Peer pressure is a bitch” and Pat G gave in as he would be forced into freestyle sessions at the local youth center where all the local talent would meet up. Pat G’s freestyle and battling talents quickly became evident to anyone that listened to him; his witty punch lines and comedic style of rap quickly got him recognized as a serious force.

After dropping out of college due to financial troubles Pat G moved to Boston in 2003. Since the move Pat G has become a well known force on the city’s rap battle scene. Pat G has amassed a long list of victims when it comes to battling, he also has similar success with his production skills. When Pat began to work the Boston Hip-Hop show circuit, he cut his teeth opening for Canibus, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Wiz Khalifa, DJ Premier, Artifacts, Reks and Mr.Lif.

Since then, Pat has produced songs for Reks, Termanology, Akrobatik, Edo G, Mr.Lif, Ripshop, and Big Shug just to name a few. Now, Pat G has linked up with Bridge Life Entertainment who will release his debut LP, New Kid On The Block, on 8-30-2011. Entirely produced by Pat G, New Kid On The Block’s lead-single, “New Day,” was the third most added single at Record Breakers Top 40 and second most at Rapattacklives.com.

Also included is a free download of Pat G’s “New Day” Remix featuring Iyadonna, Mark Merren & Intl Show.

The Away Team Releases 'Scars & Stripes' Album Cover + Track Listing

The Away Team (Emcee Sean Boog & producer Khrysis) are set to release their new album 'Scars & Stripes' on October 11th through Jamla / It's A Wonderful World Music Group / Duck Down Music.

The cover of the album depicts a photo from the 1965 Watts Riot, a large-scale riot which lasted 6 days in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA.

The Away Team feel that "during the Watts riots of 1965, racial tension was at an all-time high, due to Desegregation and Police Brutality. The riots were a direct reflection of an angered society. This, however, placed a "Scar" on American history. The riots, although violent and fatal, was a necessary turn of events in order to get where we are as a society today.

We observe those monumental events in our country's history and relate them to hip hop and the changes it has made worldwide. Through our music, we use our own "scars" we've endured as a group, and as individuals, to show our growth and transformation, and how we've earned our "Stripes".

Enter Sean Boog and Khrysis. Enter The Away Team. Enter Scars & Stripes

New Video: "Free" - Illus Featuring Homeboy Sandman

"For Adam" is an extremely personal project for Illus, one which pays homage to the late Adam Walsh who was murdered in 1981 and whose father John Walsh went on to help create the long-running television program, America’s Most Wanted.

The album reflects on the darkness of murder, kidnapping, child abuse, addiction, and slavery, while celebrating the strength to overcome the struggles and obstacles of life and live it to the fullest despite the odds. It is a testament to what Hip-hop stands for, the ability to rise up out of the shadows of despair and turn “nothing” into “something”; uniting people from all walks of life and inspiring peace, love, unity and having fun.

Underground veteran mc/producer/DJ Superstar Quamallah, who first burst onto the scene in 1998 with his Don't Call Me John EP (ABB Records), returns with a proper follow up to 2009's Invisible Man album (Brick Records) --a record which gained accolades such as a prominent feature on the BBC’s Gilles Peterson's Best Of 2009 show, finished as a Top 10 seller of 2009 on UGHH.com, and was supported by two 7-inch singles and videos, eclipsing over 150,000 views on youtube alone.

For Talkin' All That Jazz, which will be released on 9-13-2011, Quamallah is accompanied by rookie of the year candidate DeQawn and producer Izznyce. The end result of their collaboration is a truly cohesive album full of energy, noticeable chemistry between the artists, and an intent to create a distinguishable piece of work to be enjoyed for years to come. Sweet Sadie's Records Presents KC Jockey - "Girl You're Free"

KC Jockey is ready to take the rap music business by storm with his latest single, “Girl You’re Free”. Having just signed a digital distribution deal with Empire Distribution, KC Jockey now has even more outlets to let the world hear his unique and infectious sound.

Download "Girl You're Free" - KC Jockey

Born in Kingston, Jamaica KC Jockey moved to Brooklyn, NY as a young child. The rising star quickly developed a passion for all things New York both the good and the bad. The “bad” had him in the streets hustling to get all the luxuries he saw others around him enjoying. The “good” had him embracing his God-given musical abilities, which he finally realized could provide him with the same lavish lifestyle as the hustling he saw going on around him. After his mother passed from a tragic accident in 1997, Jockey dedicated himself to the studio, often working through the night to perfect his craft. The hard work paid off in 2000 when Jockey launched his own record label, Sweet Sadie’s Productions, appropriately named in honor of his mother.

“Girl You’re Free” is the story of a woman who has finally summoned the courage to break free from her abusive and oppressive relationship. The man she once loved had mentally and physically abused her to the point where she feared for her life every day.

This song celebrates the strength and bravery she showed as she finally escaped her painful and terrifying situation. This powerful song will surely pull on the heart strings of many women and men who have suffered through abusive relationships. As KC Jockey will be having a campaign set for this single on SAYING NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE An equally powerful and moving music video for “Girl You’re Free” is in production now and will be released by early Fall 2011.

KC Jockey already has the musical chops and resume to take his career to the next level, having shared stages with the likes of 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Jay Z, Mary J Blige, Beanie Man, and many others. His consistent success on both the North American and European charts shows that he plans to make an even larger impact on the music industry.

The Away Team Set to Release 'Scars & Stripes' Album on Oct. 11th

The Away Team, a hip-hop duo consisting of emcee Sean Boog and producer Khrysis, is set to release their fourth studio LP 'Scars & Stripes' on October 11th through Jamla/It's A Wonderful World Music Group/ Duck Down Music.

The 15-track album, entirely produced by Khrysis, features appearances from Talib Kweli, Phonte, Evidence, and Rapsody amongst others. When Khrysis set out to create the beats for the album he "wanted to go back to the basics with the production, yet maintain a more mature sound to display the growth of The Away Team."

Sean Boog further laments this point by adding "we aren't the same young kids who came into this game not knowing anything. Not only the rap game but the transition into adulthood. The meaning behind 'Scars & Stripes' is going through hard times, ups and downs throughout life and coming out on top. I've gotten a lot more introspective on this album lyrically, especially on songs such as "Road to Redemption," "What Is This" and "Bad News". People will be able to relate to what we are saying...life isn't easy for any of us."

On the new album, The Away Team shows diversity in storytelling, while also providing fans that aggressive, in your face music that they are known for. To stay up-to-date with The Away Team make sure to follow @SeanBoog & @Khrysis

Portland, OR --- 'The Cook Up' is the latest album from Portland, Oregon hip-hop heavyweight Cool Nutz. The project has been gaining plenty of momentum in the first week of release and a number of tracks have been getting plenty of attention from fans.

One of the most talked about tracks is the hard-hitting "Gas Team" which features heavyweight producer Bosko (Kanye West, Drake, Tupac, E-40, Lil Jon, Big Boi, T.I., J. Cole) but this time Bosko is spitting hardcore rap bars over the Tope produced sonic landscape.

This is the first full-length video from 'The Cook Up' and the follow up to the "Family Bond" single, which started the visual campaign for the new album by Cool Nutz. We Are One Productions directed "The Gas Team".

Album Review: "You Could Have It All" - TINY DANZA

Recently, the good people representing Toronto's own TINY DANZA had hit me up with a copy of their new album "You Could Have It All" for a review. Normally, I don't do many reviews as it takes a lot of time to sit down with an open mind and give an album the listening sessions that it deserves.

This time however, I decided to agree to the review and I'm definitely glad that I did. As follows is my review of TINY DANZA's new album "You Could Have It All":

Whatever your musical preference, "You Could Have It All" is a great listen. The collective of TINY DANZA's bluesy guitar chords, crisp and hard drums is mixed with an amazing blend of synth, soul and hip hop music. This musical melting pot makes for a classic album that can be played from start to finish.

TINY DANZA's unique sound also speaks volumes to the cultural and musical diversity currently boiling over in the city of Toronto.

There are many tracks on here that I consider to be favourites. Take for example the energy in "Beat Fly" which just makes me want to get up and do something! The funky vibes on the track "So Much Right Now" give it a great bounce, something I would definitely pump at a house party.

Hindsight by Tiny Danza

I totally relate to the lyrics in songs like "Hindsight" which is full of passion embedded in the vocals. With a great story weaved into the mix, the track takes listeners on a ride through a rocky history of a lost love. "Don't Stop" is also another dope joint on the album that I have to mention.

You could literally put this album on anywhere; cruising in the car, chilling at home with some chronic, or even the soundtrack of your next party. TINY DANZA's "You Could Have It All" is an amazing music experience that is well worth listening to from start to finish.

You should seriously cop this album. Pick up your copy of TINY DANZA's "You Could Have It All" album on iTunes right now!

Apathy Drops New Album Cut "Stop What Ya Doin" featuring Celph Titled (Produced by DJ Premier)

Apathy is preparing to take his career to another level with the release of his third-solo LP, Honkey Kong, which will be released on 8-23-2011.

The Connecticut emcee and The Get Busy Committee (Apathy, Scoop Deville and Ryu released Uzi Does It in October 2010) and AOTP member has undeniably crafted his best project to date and it includes production from Apathy, DJ Premier, DJ Muggs, Statik Selektah, Evidence, Da Beatminerz and Teddy Roxpin among others. Guest appearances on Honkey Kong include Xzibit, Slaine, Vinnie Paz, Esoteric, Ill Bill, Celph Titled, Action Bronson, General Steele (Smif N Wessun) and Mad Lion.

Apathy quote:
"When I started to make “Honkey Kong” I knew I wanted to make a hardcore, classic hip-hop album. I grew up listening to Gang Starr, Wu-Tang, EPMD... and so on. So when this album started coming together and I started working with dudes who I grew up studying and idolizing; like Preem, Muggs, Beatminerz, Steele, Mad Lion that made all the bullshit of the industry worth it to me. Working with DJ Premier, is personally the most important point in my career. He’s my favorite producer of all time--hands down. Everyone who contributed to this album killed it and definitely brought their "A" game."

DJ Premier quote:
"Apathy is the FIRST artist that I allowed to mix down a record that I produced... EVER!!! Shouts to my engineer Eddie Sancho who influenced him."

Here is a cool new joint from Morels Edun who is "Large on the Street Scene". This video is actually edited by Morels Edun, who uses footage from the movie 'Paid in Full' to help tell the story of his new track.

Check out this quote from Morels Edun regarding this new joint:
"My newest video, “Large on the Street Scene.” It chronicles one mans struggle to become a “man” and better his living situation by being an urban entrepreneur. Deep inside, however, he wants to rap, he want to share his creativity with the world. But the same streets that keeps him away from his true dream is the very thing that takes him closer to it."

New Joint: "Sons and Daughters" - Illus Featuring Eternia, Wordsworth & Erin Barra (Produced by J.J. Brown)

Here is a message from Illus concerning this new track:
"I’m tired of emcees rapping about how their neighborhoods are terrible and yet they love living in these conditions and making it seem as if everyone that lives there is only a drug dealer, an addict or a criminal. That’s nonsense that racist corporate America and the media want to continually perpetuate and that’s why they spend a lot more money selling us negative imagery rather than investing in the positive. Even in the poorest and most downtrodden neighborhoods, there are good people, hard working parents and families who do everything possible to provide for their children and be positive role models without submitting to crime or illegal acts. This song celebrates those mothers and fathers that do just that, work hard and provide for their families and set positive examples for their sons and daughters so they can grow into adults themselves and pass along those values, ethics, traditions and positive vibes. There is a lot of negative imagery in HIPHOP but the reality is it is a positive culture with a lot of love, passion, heart and soul, and we need to portray that more."

“Both fun and conscious, sensational and philosophical, Scott's music defies subcategorization.” Jason Simms-The Oregonian
In a culture that has become based on passing fads, maintaining relevance has become quite the daunting task. In the world of Hip-Hop music, artists come and go, hit singles fizzle out and are soon forgotten, but artists that stand up to the test of time and sustain longevity are few and far between.

Enter Cool Nutz.

With close to 20 years of service to Hip-Hop culture, Terrance Scott aka Cool Nutz has been a class act and Diplomat for Northwest Hip-Hop. While some have chosen to simply pursue success on an individual basis, Cool Nutz chose to put the region and City of Portland on his back and work to give an area typically unheard a voice.

From starting the highly successful Jus Family Records, to 2 major label record deals with Big Beat/Atlantic and Universal Records, to co-founding The Portland Oregon Hip-Hop Festival(12 years running), to creating and programming The Northwest Breakout Show (Wild 107.5 Portland/Clearchannel), to being showcased in Seattle’s Experience Music Project Museum alongside Sir Mix A Lot, Cool Nutz has built quite the body of work that will go down in the history books of Northwest music.

With 9 solo albums to his credit and appearances with the likes of E-40, BG, Tech N9ne, Kurupt, Ras Kass, Baby Bash, Mac Dre, The Grouch, Mistah Fab, C-Bo, and more, Cool Nutz has built an amazing resume, and looks to continue that with the upcoming release of his latest album “The Cook Up”.

On “The Cook Up” Cool Nutz continues to validate why he has been one of the most credible and talented voices to come from the Northwest and continues to add to his already impressive legacy. The key about “The Cook Up” is that Cool Nutz will be offering the project to fans for absolutely FREE. With appearances from Bosko, Potluck, Illmaculate, Mikey Vegaz, Maniac Lok, TxE, Kenny Mack, and more, you can rest assured that there will be plenty witty lyricism and slick wordplay to keep you glued to your speakers or headphones. And if the appearances aren’t enough, the bonus is mind blowing production from heavyhitter tracksmiths DJ Quik, Bosko, Trox, Nonstop, Tope, LawzSpoken, G_Force, HI-Q, and Terminill.

Look for standout tracks “Tax Brackets”, “The Gas Team” featuring Bosko, “Superman” featuring Mikey Vegaz, “Love” featuring TxE, and the title track “The Cook Up” to keep your listening attention, as Cool Nutz proves why he continues to be looked at as one of the shining stars of the Northwest music scene.

Check out this video of Cool Nutz rocking out for students at the University of Montana.
