New Joint: "Pimp Musik" - DJ YRS Jerzy feat. Chok-Max (Produced by Dr.G)
This is a pretty smooth and catchy track from DJ YRS Jerzy and Chok-Max, who connect with Manchester, U.K. producer Dr.G for the resulting "Pimp Musik". I don't know about y'all, but I'm always down for some late 70's, laid-back sounding music. What do you think of this new joint?

New Joint: "Connecticut" - Franc Grams (Prod. by Apathy)
Connecticut's own Franc Grams & Apathy team up to bring forth what appears to be a new anthem for Connecticut. Apathy tosses up the perfect alley oop by providing a very old school, soulful, classic hip hop feel on the production, and Franc does justice by lyrically painting a very descriptive visual of the home state, shouting out specific towns, clubs, events, the radio station, basketball team, and even wrapping up the record with a long list of individual shout outs to some of the states residents.

New Video: "Los Lobos" - First Light
The Hieroglyphics unleashed a new release by members Opio and Pep Love, the duo known together as First Light. "Fallacy Fantasy" is First Light's debut album and it is also now available online and in stores worldwide.
The release of their album is accompanied by a new music video for their track "Los Lobos". Opio and Pep Love of the famed underground hip hop collective Hieroglyphics have joined forces to illuminate the day and expound upon the Hiero theme of random acts of musical collaboration.
Here is a great description: "First Light gets its cue from the braggadocio and conceptual characteristics that were commonly expressed in the early nineties "Golden Era" of hip hop. But, at the same time, their way of displaying an affinity for and a loathing of the apathy and debauchery that permeates today's pop culture is poetically contradictory."

New Video: "World Premier" by ILL BILL + "The Grimy Awards" Full Stream
Last week I heard a free full stream of ILL BILL's newest album, "The Grimy Awards". I like ILL BILL most of the time, but with his passion for knowledge of information that I lack knowledge of, sometimes I can't relate to what he's saying. It happens a couple of times in this album, but overall there's a lot of really dope content. From deep tracks like "Canarsie High" and "When I Die", to raw lyrical tracks like "Paul Baloff", ILL BILL kept this album pretty diverse. A lot of dedications were expressed through this album, as if it were a speech he would give at the Grammys. But this ain't no sugarcoated pussy shit, so he twisted it into "The Grimy Awards" (had to add that in because I didn't know the meaning of the title until I bought the album and read the insert). But anyways. This track right here is a dedication to the producer of the song, legendary DJ Premier. You could probably figure that out by the sound of the beat if I hadn't told you that. This track's gotta classic hip-hop vibe and makes you feel like you've stepped into the past. Check it.
"The Grimy Awards" boasts features from Jedi Mind Tricks, Cormega, Lil' Fame and Q-Unique

New Video: "That's What I Do" - Classified
This video is perfect. Classified is the most real, down to earth rapper ever. Throughout the course of his career, he's quietly fought against any stereotype you could ever hold against rap music. The evolution of his music seems to match his evolution as a person. Over a mellow, soulful beat, Classified lets you know what he does. This is too sick... Canada represent!!!
Classified's self-titled album can now be found in stores, or on iTunes.
New Joint: "Speed" - Slaine ft. Checkmark, Termanology & Lu Balz
One of the many albums that i'm anticipating for this year is Slaine's "The Boston Project". His last album, "A World With No Skies" is one that I still listen to frequently, so it's gonna be interesting to hear what's up his sleeve this year. This song has a cool feel to it, with a nice hook and a smooth beat. Check it.
"The Boston Project" is set to be released on March 19, 2013, and features acts such as Esoteric, Jaysaun, Edo G and REKS.

New Joint: "Czar Refaeli" - Czarface (Inspectah Deck x 7L & Esoteric) featuring Oh No
"CZARFACE" will be released on 2-19-2013 via Brick Records.
Throughout Inspectah Deck’s career, whether it was beside his fellow Wu-Tang brethren or in a solo-capacity, he is as adamant today about his culture and pushing the creative envelope as he was before "Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers" became an epic masterpiece; hence the formation of CZARFACE, a new collaborative project with underground icons 7L & Esoteric.
With rap fans again craving more substance and less polish, Inspcetah Deck realizes there is a tangible shift taking place- “The industry doesn't need another well packaged, put together “act,” instead fans are once again gravitating to the seasoned vets and newcomers that are still true to the game.”
With a working history that dates back nearly as far as Wu-Tang’s, 7L & Esoteric are undisputedly Boston and underground hip-hop royalty. CZARFACE offered the duo an opportunity to pick up where they left off over a decade ago with Inspectah Deck, as he joined them on the title track to their revered "Speaking Real Words EP" (1999).
Inspectah Deck says “Speaking Real Words is one of the many reasons we are now CZARFACE. After doing that song, it was only right we collaborated on a project to cater to the millions of fans that still support hip-hop from the underground."
With guest appearances from Ghostface Killah, Action Bronson, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Roc Marciano, Vinnie Paz, Cappadonna & additional beats from DJ Premier & Oh No, you can expect nothing less then top notch production and rewind worthy lyricism from CZARFACE.
"We are CZARFACE because they know our faces and they know us for being dope rhyme suppliers, like Tony Montana we are known for our balls and our word; lyrically we will conquer the world and everything in it” states Deck. Esoteric explains further, “CZARFACE is a vigilante, anti-hero character who serves as the face of the project, and his focus is on annihilating the media darlings that the mainstream caters to.”
The album artwork for CZARFACE was created by Lamour Supreme from Mishka NYC (www.mishkanyc.com/home),

New Joint: "My Universe" - La Coka Nostra featuring Vinnie Paz (Produced by Statik Selektah)
Always known for tackling controversial topic matter, the group’s sophomore project, "Masters Of The Dark Arts", dorpping on July 31st, finds them once again in torch-bearing mode, addressing subjects that most artists shy away from as ILL BILL illustrates: “as conceptually and musically dark as this album appears to be, there's also a flip side layer to it that you may not notice until you listen to it a few times. 'Masters Of The Dark Arts' is a storm before the calm and a celebration of the good things in life that can only be achieved by walking directly into the heart of darkness and facing your inner demons head on."
While the group’s roster has been trimmed slightly due to Everlast having to leave the group (for personal reasons), La Coka Nostra returns re-invigorated and fresh off of a recently completed seventeen-city European tour which saw them rock crowds in eleven different countries.
"I think we approached 'Masters Of The Dark Arts' with a chip on our shoulder and really took it back to our original mission of hardcore Hip-Hop amidst all the circus bullshit that is so prevalent in the current landscape of the genre. We are aware of the perception that somehow the group has suffered a loss we can’t recover from and in response we made an album that is the most conceptually focused and hardest hitting soundscape in the group’s history”, Slaine asserts.
La Coka Nostra’s "Masters Of The Dark Arts" will drop on 7-31-2012 and be released by Fat Beat Records.

New Video: "Cheesesteaks" by Vinnie Paz
This morning Vinnie Paz dropped a new video from an upcoming solo album that I wasn't aware of, "The God of the Serengeti". This song is raw as hell, I really like it. But I'm unsure why it was given the title "Cheesesteaks". I'm not really surprised at all because a lot of the time Jedi Mind Tricks and Vinnie himself have weird, random titles for their songs. This one just seemed a bit more corny than usual. It has a sick beat and Vinnie destroys it with his lyrics. I think his Lloyd Christmas hairstyle looks jokes while he's chillin at the barbershop. Kinda looks like his bangs coulda been cut with a... boxcutter. BOXCUTTER PAZIE! Haha, this album should be released sometime this fall. It's gonna be hard to live up to the content from "Season of the Assassin". That album was nuts. But hopefully this one will be just as good, if not better. Anyways, check this shit out son!

New Video: "Not a Day Goes By" by Brother Ali
Whattup world! This video just came out today, and totally surprised me. Not even the fact that it's a new song that I wasn't anticipating, but I was surprised by the different side of Brother Ali's character. I kinda like the attitude he had in this song, which was amped up even more by the cool video effects and the crazy beat produced by Jake One. The end of the video displayed the title of Brother Ali's next project, "Mourning in America and Dreaming in Colour", which I'm not even sure if this song is a part of. Either way, it's got me wanting to hear the new album, which hits stores on August 13, 2012.
