New Joint: "Cold Nights" - K Brenton & RTiculate
That's right y'all, your boy RTiculate is back at it. This time, connecting with the home boy K Brenton from here in Kitchener-Waterloo, "Cold Nights" is a new track we recorded over "The Crystals" beat by Freddie Joachim.
RTiculate drops the first verse, with K brenton following up in the second verse with some really dope lyrics, and both of us combining on the hook - which was written by K Brenton.

RTiculate Live at the Hive Saturday August 28th Pics
Here are a couple of the pics from the show the other week. Your boy RTiculate was live in action on August 28th with the home boy Skriblez live at the Hive in Kitchener Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Presented by Street Hop Radio and hosted by DJ Carmelo and Shua James aka DJ Reddroc, the show featured lots of local talent out of the KW region. Peep Skriblez having fun with camera.
All in all, it's just building up the experience performing live. The show didn't go so well, but regardless of any set backs that arose, your boys RTiculate and Skriblez went up and tried to salvage by putting down a good performance for the fans who attended.

RTiculate & Skriblez Two Days Away: Preparing For The Next Live Performance

What Up Y'all!
It's your boy RTiculate and we're just two days away from my next performance which is coming at you direct LIVE AT THE HIVE this Saturday August 28th on 200 King St. in Kitchener-Waterloo.
Right now I am just going over the prepared set list, also making my self aware of any last minute changes that can possibly come up at any moment. The key for me is to make this next live performance a memorable one.
I'm trying to entertain, not "act" as if I am entertained by my own material. Main concepts that I like to focus on before a live performance include:
> How will I involve the crowd tonight?
It's not a question of "can I?" it is a question of "will I" try to get reactions out of the crowd. The answer should most certainly always be yes! Do not sleep on the people in the audience, or they will sleep on you - and not in the way they would after putting on a good show! :)
> What is the best possible order of songs that will keep the audience engage from start to finish?
For the opening track, Skriblez and I are going to perform a dope track that involves both of us complimenting each other nicely on the chorus. Our individual verses contain lots of "hype" parts, which we can both back each other up on since we are well rehearsed.
> What can I do to get more people to fill the venue?
This is by far the most "challenging" concept to focus on. With only two days away from the event, there are three kinds of people you will deal with: people who have scheduled in your performance and are committed to attending, people who already know they will not show, and lastly the people who are always on the fence about committing to watch you perform live.
Mainly, I focus on contacting my "influential" friends who are already committed to attending the show. These people are not only your loyal supporters, but they also have some influence in persuading the actions of others, attracting their interest in coming to your gig as well.
Bottom line:
We're still just two days away from my next performance, but if I focus on putting on a good show, cut back on smoking, eating healthy and getting adequate rest than everything will work out great. Hopefully you will be reading more performance updates in the near future!
Also, if you're in the province of Ontario and you love hip hop than I suggest you make it out to LIVE AT THE HIVE this Saturday, doors open at 9pm and tickets are just 7 dollars are the door. See you all there!

RTiculate Live At The Joint Presented By Street Hop Radio, Pics of the event
On Saturday April 17th I had the pleasure of performing with collaborators and a bunch of local heads in front of a large crowd of fans and friends. Live at "The Joint" was a good show, hosted by 100.3 FM Street Hop Radio's Dj Carmelo and Dj Reddroc. As an indie rap artist, I got to open up with a few solo tracks followed by songs with my boys Devilz Speciez and Skriblez. We were followed by O.L.O.S. who brought that ill reggae flavor. Truth Among The Darkness and Exponent3 also hit the stage and brought some unique style to the show.

Happy New Year Hip Hop Fans & Rap Music Makers !
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERY ONE !
What up hard grinding hip hoppers? The future of rap music, later developed in to this Rap Music Business blog, focuses on my passion of hip hop marketing and rap artist promotion. It's been an interesting year to say the least. My experiences with this blog has taught me some very important lessons, in my quest of being an effective and successful rap artist-entrepreneur.
If you've been reading the blog for quite some time, I would like to personally thank you for your support. As I continue to narrow in on the values behind what this blog is and what it can become, I get even more excited.
It is because of hard working hip hop artists like you, working in the trenches, that motivates me to keep posting and aim to make my posts valuable if not entertaining.
Hopefully you've picked up an idea or two, or maybe a different perspective on your career in the music business from reading through some the posts. The goal is to educate, challenge and inspire others with my words through this outlet.
May all your hard work off in this new year! Best of luck with your resolutions ;)
Your boy,
RTiculate
