New Video: Murs & SRS Present MyTunes ProHD Music Player App

Press Release:
The iPad is many things, but not a.professional-grade audio system - until now. SRS Labs and Cali emcee Murs present the MyTunes Pro HD Music App, the most advanced, feature-rich, audio enhancing music player application ever developed for the iPad, also available in non-HD for the iPhone and iPod.

“When I’m done putting tracks together in the studio, my hope is that my fans get to hear them exactly the way I recorded them, but that’s not always possible,” says Murs. “MyTunes uncovers layers of audio and details that normally get buried somewhere in the mix, allowing me to hear my tracks and other music the way they were meant to be heard."

MyTunes seamlessly pulls music, podcast and audio book files from your iTunes® music library, and offers innovative features like Party Mode (where the app reorganizes a selected playlist to fit your party style), Workout Mode (where the app automatically adjusts your music to fit the speed and intensity of your workout) and Speed Control (which allows you to speed or slow your podcasts with no effect on pitch and tone).

HD sound, a fully adjustable 10-band EQ, listening device presets, volume normalization, Airplay and iTunes Match support, advanced drilldown search, special driving mode and DJ-style transitions are also included. MyTunes Pro HD for iPad and MyTunes Pro for iPod and iPhone apps can be downloaded FREE from the iTunes® App Store.

Users will enjoy the fully functioning music player with advanced features for a limited time each day until they decide to fully unlock the app’s advanced features via a one–time in-app purchase. iPhone / iPod version - $6.99; iPad version - $9.99.

To commemorate the launch of MyTunes Pro for iPhone and MyTunes Pro HD for iPad, SRS is giving people who have downloaded either version of the app a chance to win “The Ultimate Paid Dues Festival Experience,” which includes an all expenses paid trip for two to Los Angeles, CA to hang out backstage with Murs at the Paid Dues Festival, plus side-stage access to an artist performance of their choice. Snoop Dogg's "Pronto" Secures Placement During Stanley Cup Finals

Here is another great example of hip hop/rap music placements on TV. Snoop Dogg's single "Pronto" featuring Soulja Boy aired during this year's NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

This is great music marketing at work! To further promote his latest studio album release "Malice In Wonderland", Snoop was able to achieve a placement for his newest single. During the live broadcast which is viewed by tens of millions of people world wide, the track plays with a mash-up of mixed footage from the finals.

Also check out Eminem's "Not Afraid", produced by Toronto's own hip hop producer Boi-1da which also got a placement during the Stanley Cup Finals.

Eminem's Single "Not Afraid" Featured During Hockey Night In Canada

During this year's NHL Stanley Cup Finals between my favorite team the Philadelphia Flyers vs. the Chicago Black Hawks, I noticed what great music placements Eminem always gets for his newest singles.

Granted, when you're a superstar rap artist you can pull those strings. But, what does it take to have your song placed during one of the world's biggest sporting events when tens of millions of people all over the world are tuned in? Great music marketing!

Check out Eminem's "Not Afraid", produced by Toronto's own hip hop producer Boi-1da which was used during CBC's broadcast of Hockey Night In Canada (HNIC) before last game.

Hip Hop Producer Dr.Dre & HP Computers Join Forces For New Product Ad Campaign

These short video clips are from the new "Lets Do Amazing" campaign by HP computers and Dr.Dre & Jimmy Iovine of Aftermath Entertainment/InterScope records.

These videos are very effective marketing tools for the recently launched campaign. The clips feature Dr.Dre and hilarious comedian Rhys Darby ("Flight of The Concords", "Yes Man"). If you ask me, this is definitely a good pairing, product wise and in terms of celebrities used for the commercials.

Drake Gets Massive Exposure, Rap Artist Featured In Sprite Commercial

Check it out, this is big time exposure for Drake, let alone any rap artist in the music business who can actually land a commercial through a big time corporate sponsor. Who said a boy from Toronto can't get commercial play?

What do you think about the effects and type of budget that would be required to do a short video commercial such as this? Is it worth it for rap artists to blow that kind of money, or would efforts be better served on other grinds? A nationally sponsored commercial is usually a highly effective marketing strategy for any artist who works hard for the opportunity.

One thing is for sure, you can't argue with results!

Eminem Track Used By Microsoft Xbox360 Commercial For C.O.D. Modern Warfare 2

"Til I Collapse" written and performed by Eminem featuring Nate Dogg is from the album "the Eminem Show". This particular track is used here to promote the new blockbuster game Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 by the Xbox360 of Microsoft Corporation.

Having the funds to properly market this already highly anticipated game, it's no surprise Microsoft decided to use an Eminem song to promote their new million dollar baby. The rap superstar has an unmistakable voice, catching viewers attention instantly. I know this.

How, you ask ? I just so happen to be sitting in the living room, working on my laptop, when I heard the rap artist's song coming from a TV commercial. It caught my attention immediately, considering the last TV commercial I saw which featured an Eminem track was for the iPod by Apple, who wound up getting sued and settling out of court with the rapper's music publishing company.

For more details on that, check out my article on the subject: 8 Mile Style Lawsuit Against Apple

Hopefully Microsoft acquired the proper synchronization license, or else they are going to run into some legal trouble. What do you think ? Leave your two cents.
