New Joint: "I'm A G-style" by Komodo

New shit from Kitchener artist, Komodo. This one's gotta raw, straight hip-hop feel to it. It's a 2 minute freeverse over the "I'm A G" by Reef the Lost Cauze instrumental. Seems like something to keep people eager to hear his upcoming project, "The Beast Within" which drops on Halloween. Check it.

New Video: "Don't Call Me" by Rakim, DMX, Shontelle & Aleks D

Awww yeaa. I thought this was such a sick conglomeration of a lot of elements. You got Rakim bringing his legendary lyrical skills and wisdom, DMX bringing his raw energy, and Shontelle with a hot voice bringing in the hook. The beat was crazy too bringing in that guitar solo. I really liked the all around feel of the video, with close ups on the guitar and just showin em in the studio. Some real hip-hop shit. Check it.

New Video: "The Star Room" by Mac Miller

Man, Mac Miller's sicker than ever. From what I've heard of his recent shit, he's bringing a new sound to the game. It's a lil off, and it's damn weird, but I like it. It definitely sounds like some drug induced inspiration, which I can dig fo sho. This video re-visits the same room from the last video I remember him dropping, this time it's darker and distorted. Not sure what that means, but it's a dope release regardless. Check it!

New Video: "Live From The Streets" by Mr. Green ft. Matisyahu, Benefit & Kyon Williams

Here's another addition to Mr Green's unique "Live from the Streets" series. I think this one's really dope. I haven't heard anything from Benefit in a looong ass time. But he spits some really dope verses over the beat made by Mr Green and Kyon Williams. Check it!

New Joint: "Time Travel (Remix)" by Dead Prez ft. Busta Rhymes, Black Thought, Bun B & Tr!x

This is a sick collab. Everybody sounds so clear and refined on this track. I'm loving Black Thought's part cuz it's not too often you hear him murk a beat like this. The chorus is kinda weak but the rest makes up for it. Check it.

Music Video: "Survival" by Eminem

Not really a fan of this beat. But I prefer Eminem's lyrics in this track over that Berzerk track that everyone's raving about. Combining a gritty backdrop with scenes from the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts, Eminem dropped some visuals for the single. Check it.

Music Video: "Cheers From The Crowd" by Joell Ortiz

Another Shady army release for y'all. This time it's from Mr. Yaowa. I'm digging this joint, it's got the perfect beat to compliment what Joell was tryna say in the track. Now all I'm waiting on is this BET Slaughterhouse cypher. Check it.

Music Video: "Keep the Change" by Caskey

New video from my favourite YMCMB artist, the outcast from the rest of em, but probably the most insightful. Caskey strolls through the city, venting in these new visuals for Track 12 from his latest mixtape, "The Transient Classics". One of the better cuts from the mixtape, in my opinion. Check it.

Music Video: "Serial Killers" by Xzibit, Demrick & B Real

Xzibit, Demrick & B-Real have combined forces to form the trio, "Serial Killers". This is the track/video to launch the group to the public, and give you a preview of the upcoming mixtape which drops on Halloween. The mixtape will be available for free download at http://www.livemixtapes.com

TeamBackPack just dropped this new cypher featuring four very talented emcees rippin' the mic at the Rock the Bells festival. Check it.

Hopsin released his 6th installment of the "Ill Mind of Hopsin" series yesterday. And with each installment, his subject matter gets more and more serious. This one is strictly one topic, no disses, just straight up life experiences spoken from the heart. It seems like a continuation of his track from Gazing At The Moonlight, "Chris Dolmeth", but this one's a lil more serious than the last. The video's clean as fuck, production is tight, and the lyrics and delivery are crazy of course. This shit's deep son! Check it.

New Video: "Panic Room" by Dope D.O.D. ft. Onyx

Dope D.O.D. has been making a name for themselves out in Europe. I don't remember how I even got put on to them, but my first impression was that they were weird as hell. But after hearing a few tracks and understanding their direction, I can dig em. Their production is usually sick, they have alright rhymes and their videos are always very well done. In some of their music videos, the footage from their live shows looks crazy too. But yea, today I seen they dropped a new video featuring Onyx, and I thought it was dope. Seems like a hype track for a performance. Check it!

New Video: "We Movin" by AZ [Produced by Statik Selektah]

This song's sick. AZ's still killing shit, and keeping it lyrical as hell. I was never huge into AZ but I know a few of his older songs. His flow's so smooth and fits together perfect. Sometimes I like tracks with this mood too. When the beat doesn't even have hard drums, just nice mellow drums over a soulful sample. The Statik Selektah produced track isn't from an album as far as I know, just a single at this point. RTiculate already posted the song itself, but this is my first time hearing it, and the video's dope as well. Check it!

New Joint: "Bully" by Jarren Benton ft. Vinnie Paz

I think this collaboration is random as hell. I'm not complaining or anything, it's good to see Vinnie Paz working with a Funk Volume artist. Just caught me a lil off guard haha. It actually turned out to be an alright song though. It's from Jarren Benton's first album on FV, "My Grandma's Basement", which drops on June 11. This song gives you what you'd expect from each artist, so if you're a fan of either than you should check this!

New Video: "Rap vs Real" by Saigon

This is one of the most eye-opening tracks from "Bread and Circuses II", and also one of my favourites. Saigon keeps it G as always and spits the truth over a hard beat. I really like how he made contrasts of every line throughout the song. The shit he says is sort of a reminder to anybody out there thinkin' the rap game's all flashy cars and horny women. Here's the track along with some recently released visuals. Check it.

New Video: "The Awakening" by Ransom

I'm looking forward to seeing Ransom's future moves. Because his momentum lately could take him down the right road if he plays his cards right. Seems like the dude's been workin hard lately on music and videos. This track, "The Awakening" is a deeper track but eventually becomes pretty intense. Kinda reflects the progression of where his hunger originated from. I wish the song was longer but this is all I get I guess lol. Check it.

New Joint: "Big Ships" by E-dubble

I haven't heard a track from E-dubble in a while. So today I hear this new track released by him and it has such a positive feel to it. This is the kinda music I could bike to work listening to on a nice day like today. I still don't know much about E-dubble so I'ma just let the music speak for itself.

New Video: "Stand It" by Locksmith ft. Anesha

Cheaaa boyy. Locksmith is still grinding and consistently droppin ill shit. I'm not sure how old his "Labyrinth" mixtape is, but I recently downloaded it and I've been a fan of his music ever since. I was a fan before, but that mixtape solidified the fact for me that he's an absolute beast. Today I found this joint which was just released. It's got that classic hip-hop feel, as do most 9th Wonder productions. On top of that, Anesha blesses the track with mesmerizing vocals to compliment Locksmiths crazy muhfuckin lyrics. This shit is dope. I'm guessing this is a track from his album, "The Green Box", which releases tomorrow.

New Video: "When Worlds Collide" by CES Cru

Alright. Now I'm really excited for "Constant Energy Struggles". First Lotus, and now this. Ces Cru is making their way up to the top of my favourites. This beat is nuts, and they spazzed over it. This just solidifies the fact, once again, that Strange Music is a mob of elite emcees. The video's also cool. "Constant Energy Struggles" releases on the 26th of March, and can be preordered at StrangeMusicInc.net. It comes in a bundle with a signed copy of the album, a t-shirt, a sticker, and a bonus mp3 track for all the hardcore fans out there!
