Love, Props and The T-Dot: Toronto's Hip Hop History (Documentary)

From the early 80's with such as Ivan Berry, Canada's first Hip Hop producer/manager to Ron Nelson, Toronto's first Hip Hop DJ.

This documentary first aired last saturday on CBC and is definitely worth watching. "Love, Props and The T-Dot" features video interviews from Canada's most influential hip hop artists, including; Michie Mee, LA Luv, Maestro Fresh Wes, The Dream Warriors, Ghetto Concept, Saukrates, Choclair, Kardinall Offishal, K-Os, Shad and many more!

To coincide with the CBC's Hip Hop Summit, CBC News Toronto documents the history of Hip Hop in Toronto with the doc "Love, Props and the T.Dot".

Canada Stand Up! K'naan, Drake, Justin Bieber & More Young Artists For Haiti

"Waving Flag (Remix) - K'naan Feat. Drake, Justin Bieber & many more talented young Canadian urban/hip hop artists for Haiti.

This song is tearing up the air waves on all the urban music radio stations up here in Canada. While I'll admit at first this track had to grow on me a little bit, I'm definitely feeling it and especially this remix.

Although this remix is being used to raise more funds for the devastation of Haiti (again, a good cause that anyone can sing/rap about), K'naan's original version of "Waving Flag" is actually selected as the anthem for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup.

International Hip Hop Festival Rock The Bells Hits Toronto Canada

What up everyone ! It's ya main man RTiculate here, just thought I'd write a quick blog post about the show I was thinking about catching tonight. Rock the Bells '09 hits my home town of Toronto, Ontario, Canada tonight and I'm one hundred per cent sure it is going to be an amazing show with some HUGE performances lined up.



Rock the Bells is perhaps the largest hip hop festival on the international scene, boasting an all-star studded line up of hip hop artists. This year's hosts will include the legendary KRS-one, Murs, Supernatural and super producer Pete Rock. Some of the notable performers on tonight's bill are Nas, Common, The Roots, Damien Marley, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi (of OutKast), M.O.P., horrorcore rapper Necro, Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli and innovative producer Hi-Tek). Other performers include iconic producer RZA, GZA, Tech N9ne, with super group Slaughter House (Royce da 5'9, Joell Ortiz, Joe Buddens and Crooked I) and old school rap group House of Pain.



Toronto's own up and coming rap star K'Naan will also be performing in the line up. K'Naan continues to spread his music movement world wide, while gaining alot of acclaim in Canada.
