Canadian Hip Hop Star Maestro Fresh Wes Defends Lyrics On HipHopCanada

After giving so much to the hip hop movement in Canada for the past quarter century, this actor/rap recording artist shouldn't have to explain or defend him self, period. Although he did make a statement on HipHopCanada.com to defend his lyrics
Here are some of the words taken from the statement made by the Canadian hip hop icon:
Just to set the record straight, I've been involved in this game for over 25 years professionally and I can honestly say I have never dissed any Canadian MC on a track. I don't get down like that....I'm from the era of Rakim, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Kool Moe Dee, and Krs One and this was a time when an MC was supposed to state he is the greatest. My track was nothing but straight up Ol Skool MC'ing.

This is the track by Classified which features Maestro Fresh Wes alongside fellow Canadian hip hop artists Choclair and Moka Only. Apparently, someone, somewhere took direct offense to 'Stro's lyrics on the track (what happen to the freedom of speaking your mind?).

Anyhow, being the humble man that rap artist/actor Maestro Fresh Wes is, he took the time out to set the record straight. You have got to admire the amount of respect that this man has for his peers, good for him.
