Upcoming Event: Tri-Cities Producer Showcase - Beat Battle 4th Edition

Street Hop Radio presents the upcoming Tri-Cities Producer Showcase. This live event is the 4th edition of the beat battles that have been taking place down at Maxwell's Music House at 220 King St. North in Waterloo. 

Come check out this event where 8 beat makers will square off in a battle for a cash prize plus a chance to win a 1 hour photo-shoot with photographer Matt McCarl. The event is 19+ and $10 admission at the door, sponsored by McCarl Photography.

The Tri Cities Producer Showcase has been a great success for the region's talented hip hop scene and we are back again on Saturday Aug 25th at Maxwell's Music House in downtown Waterloo! We will have 16 producer battle it out in 4 rounds of action for a cash prize of $300 and 1 hour Photo Session with McCarl Photography.

At the last event we had a fantasic battle with A. Jones and MisterE in the finals. The new Champ is MisterE! As always DJ Carmelo will be holding down the music and also doing the hosting this month. We will also have a live performance by Dice Gio and Klue. The doors open at 9 pm and it's $10 cover with ID.

This live rap battle event is going to be insane! On August 10-12, at Club XS, World Domination 3 continues the tradition, with a battling card featuring some of the best rappers from Canada, USA, Philippines, Australia, England, Norway and Sweden.

At World Domination 3, King Of The Dot continues its mission to further the cause of hip-hop worldwide by matching up successful recording artists and the elite of the battle rap world. One headline match features Madchild, from the four-time Juno Award winning, platinum-selling Canadian hip-hop group Swollen Members against platinum-selling Australian recording artist 360.

New Video: Murs Introduces Through the Mic: LACMA x Hip Hop

THROUGH THE MIC: LACMA X Hip Hop, the first museum hip hop concert series of its kind, will explore contemporary Los Angeles hip hop music from May through October 2012. Cocurated by LACMA and hip hop artist Murs, concerts will take place on the third Thursday of every month, and will feature emerging and experimental L.A.-based hip hop artists.

On May 17 the series kicks off with a special performance by 3MG: Murs, Eligh, and Scarub, formerly known as 3 Melancholy Gypsys, a L.A. based group reuniting specifically for this LACMA performance. Street Hop Presents: Tri Cities Producer Showcase Beat Battle Edition Friday April 6th

The Tri Cities Producer Showcase is back with another event at Maxwell's Music House. Come out to 220 King St. North in uptown Waterloo on Friday April 6th.

This upcoming event will feature 8 hip hop producers/beat makers in a battle for a cash prize! There will also be live performances by Fraction and Angerville. As usual, DJ Carmelo and DJ Reddroc will be holding it down by hosting the night's festivities.

Its $10 at the door with ID and the event starts at 9pm. Come out to support some of the talented hip hop producers in the Tri-Cities. We will also be helping to celebrate the release of Fraction's new album 'Extra Science'.

It Lives In The North Presents: Hungry For Hip Hop Saturday December 17th

This is a great cause and I encourage everyone in the area to head on down to Yonge and Dundas for some great hip hop for the holidays!

Toronto, ON – Check out this promotional video from It Lives In The North’s Founder (and HipHopCanada’s Central Editor) Jonathon “Bizz” Brown. He explains the concept of Hungry For Hip Hop on December 17th as Cadi The Barber gives him a shape up.

Hungry For Hip Hop will feed your appetite for spontaneous, communal hip hop, while bringing together resources to feed the apetite’s of those less fortunate this holiday season. On December 17th, the south-west corner of Yonge & Dundas will host another dynamic holiday event put on by It Lives In The North. World renowned beatboxer Scott Jackson will perform live from 1-5pm and will be joined by B-boy’s Maximum Efficiency Crew. Those attending are encouraged to arrive with non-parishable food items, all of which will be donated to Daily Bread Foodbank. Hip Hop Ain’t Dead It Lives In The North apparel will be available for purchase (with $5 of every sale going toward additional food donations) as well as given away to kids!
