New Video: "Stand It" by Locksmith ft. Anesha

Cheaaa boyy. Locksmith is still grinding and consistently droppin ill shit. I'm not sure how old his "Labyrinth" mixtape is, but I recently downloaded it and I've been a fan of his music ever since. I was a fan before, but that mixtape solidified the fact for me that he's an absolute beast. Today I found this joint which was just released. It's got that classic hip-hop feel, as do most 9th Wonder productions. On top of that, Anesha blesses the track with mesmerizing vocals to compliment Locksmiths crazy muhfuckin lyrics. This shit is dope. I'm guessing this is a track from his album, "The Green Box", which releases tomorrow.

New Video: 9th Wonder Announces New Albums With Buckshot & Murs

This is too-dope (no pun intended). The legendary 9th Wonder announced that he is releasing two new albums next month. Both are collaborative projects that will see super producer 9th Wonder release one album with Buckshot through Jamla Records/Duck Down Music Inc., as well as another with Murs through It's A Wonderful World Music Group/Traffic Entertainment/KGMG.

"The Solution" will be the third collaborative work from Buckshot and 9th Wonder, while "The Final Adventure" is the fifth album that Murs and 9th Wonder have worked on together.  Both albums will be released on November 13th.

Here is the official video for "Jansport Strings,” the 9th Wonder produced lead single off Skyzoo's upcoming album, 'A Dream Deferred,' out October 2nd on The Faculty/Duck Down Music Inc. Video Directed by Anthony Sylvester.

In Skyzoo's Words:

The theme was to show the parallels between me as a 9-year old aspiring emcee and me now as an accomplished emcee and artist, and how the things around me that groomed me haven't changed. The song is a 3-minute auto-bio of me as a kid in Brooklyn.

The ending is a clip from Video Music Box, the legendary NYC video show run by DJ Ralph McDaniels. This episode in particular was the debut of Chi-Ali's 'Age Ain't Nothin But A Number'. Seeing that video that day on this episode of VMB made me start rhyming. This clip was literally the moment that changed my life. And the Chi-Ali tee shirt is pretty amazing. They'll be on sale soon. "The idea behind Jansport Strings is not based on it being literal, but more so in the figurative sense. As a kid in NY, the strings on your Jansport bag were a sign of power and presence. Kids would steal the strings off of each other's bags and burn the tips to prevent getting robbed of them once they got them.

The song is a 3 minute auto-bio of me as a kid in Brooklyn and seeing more than my friends and I had bargained for.
