New Joint: "Richards Branson" - Aspektz

While Toronto may no longer be the industry's best kept secret for finding unsigned talent, that isn't stopping Richard Branson from dipping into the talent pool. Following a chance meeting with billionaire entrepreneur and Virgin Records founder Richard Branson, rumors are swirling around the industry that Aspektz is poised to ink, or may already have signed, a 360 deal with the powerhouse label (home to The Gorillaz, Chiddy Bang and other genre-defying artists).

The artist behind Toronto's "IN THE TDOT" anthem and ambassador for 360-degree music videos has been popping up everywhere lately, taking interviews on the Business News Network, in XXL and more. When reached for comment, Chris Anokute, Senior Director of A&R for Virgin, indicated the label caught wind of the viral success from the interactive video technology Aspektz delivered, but was unable to comment on the contract or signing. Also unreachable for comment, Aspektz released a photo of himself with Branson taken earlier this month on his Facebook fan page, along with a new song entitled "Richard Branson".

Aspektz new interactive video campaign has been picking up momentum online as viewers experience the revolutionary new technology for the first time. While the red cup anthem "Swivel" took viewers into the wild True Thorobredz parties, the upcoming “Snowday” video promises to expose the world to a true Canadian winter experience.
