Roughly two weeks before these albums are scheduled to be released they both leaked online. Drake's buzzed about debut album "Thank Me Later" is currently being compared to the great classic debut albums of some of hip hop's most prestigious legends.
So it's no wonder that technologically and socially savvy music fans every where got their hands on this release two weeks earlier then "we" were supposed to receive it. Drake is an artist who is built on this next generation's understanding of social media, so how does the rapper feel about the first album leak he has to deal with?
Drake used his Twitter account to comment:
"I gave away free music for years so we're good over here...just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY! JUNE 15th!"
After a string of new singles released through various channels, a brand new video which received over 4 million YouTube views worldwide in 2 days, and all other promotional exposure behind this rap artist, it is no surprise that this album leaked.
"Relapse" was Eminem's first studio album about five years and leaked two weeks prior to it's official release last year. Originally penned as the sequel to the "Relapse" album, Shady's new highly anticipated "Recovery" is a change in artist direction that music fans could not wait to get a hold of, leaking once again two weeks in advanced of the release date.
Have you heard either of these two albums yet? Will you still purchase copies upon the actual release dates?
