What The Good Folks At Digital Music News Noticed About Chris Brown's Publicity Trail
http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/stories/040810brown
Here is an excerpt quoted from the article:
"A lot of radio stations aren't playing my records," Brown recently audio-blogged on SayNow. "It's on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back."This article is an interesting read, although you have to sign up with Digital Music News to read it in full. Sign up! It's definitely worth it, these guys are on point with current news in the music industry and always have a little something-something for us in the rap music business.
Hate him or love him? One thing about Chris Brown though is he is yet to give up and you have to admire that. (Keep your head up kid, this too shall pass!). Here is a Chris Breezy/Juelz Santana track I've been hearing a lot on the Galaxie TV radio lately when I'm working on the laptop. See Breezy, they still be playing you up here in Canada!

Charades of Chris Brown Continue, R&B Artist Leaves Twitter Followers Hanging

Chris Brown has 172,000+ followers on Twitter. Scratch that, the R&B singer had 172,000 followers, until he ditched them after another one of his rants. Chris Brown posted a tirade of tweets whining about being "black balled" by the big chain Wal-Mart, who Brown accuses of not-carrying his new album on store shelves for the holiday season.
Really, these problems should be addressed behind closed doors between suits and corporate robots. However, the combination of social technology these days mixed with celebrity youth is a recipe for these types of indiscretions. Chris Brown, clearly emotional, if perhaps was older and more experienced would not have caused such a rant in front of his followers.
This type of fore sight can help keep you out of these type of "foot in mouth, head up ass" situations one can get caught in as an artist in the music industry. A stunt to promote, or draw attention, can be very effective as a music marketing strategy for your brand and/or product. However, it can also back fire.
Almost like inviting a "lucky music fan" on stage for a little tango, when she could crush you ! Ha ha, this picture gets me every time. Look at dude's face on the left, with the orange hair, hilarious.

Chris Brown Embarks On Fan-Appreciation Tour

Chris Breezy is trying to win all his teeny bopper fans back I guess ? The only problem is nobody is buying tickets. There hasn't been many promotions for this tour, are you surprised ? Why would Jive Records shell out a bunch of money on a pretty big risk such as this one right now.
After his highly publicized assault case regarding mega pop star Rihanna, it seems that this R&B singer is having a hard time getting music fans to show up at the shows on his new fan appreciation tour.
This is especially hard to come by, considering the biggest demographic in this recording artists target market are young teen aged girls. I guess we know who these girls are throwing their support behind. Tough crowd.

Chris Brown Gets Some Help From YouTube Video
It's funny, some one asked me the other day, "Do you think Chris Brown will put out a new record?". Being the smart ass that I am, I replied "Not another record for teenage girls,". Well it turns out that, despite my rude jokes, Chris Brown is still receiving some love out there.
This "love" comes in the form of some added plays on YouTube from a newly married couple's wedding day dance, which put Chris Brown back on the chats. The video has earned over 11 million views, a huge boost which earns an increase in sales since the wedding video hit the web. The newly weds were featured on NBC where they re-performed their wedding dance.
Amounting to more record sales and royalty payments from his labels Jive/ Zomba Recordings, this extra exposure through this simple video is a positive note for the singer who has been through some rough tribulations as of late.
Chris Brown has been in the media for his very public assault trial with R&B/Pop sensation Rihanna. Brown, who posted a video apology on YouTube, has been indirectly
featured on a video that spread virally across the net. This video is of two newly weds dancing down the aisle to the singer's smash hit song from last summer, "Forever". The effect that this video has had on this artist in particular is a powerful sign of what YouTube can do to change the career of any artist in the music business.
How do you use YouTube ? Are you taking advantage of the useful ways YouTube helps independent artists market their rap music ?
