New Video: "World Premier" by ILL BILL + "The Grimy Awards" Full Stream

Last week I heard a free full stream of ILL BILL's newest album, "The Grimy Awards". I like ILL BILL most of the time, but with his passion for knowledge of information that I lack knowledge of, sometimes I can't relate to what he's saying. It happens a couple of times in this album, but overall there's a lot of really dope content. From deep tracks like "Canarsie High" and "When I Die", to raw lyrical tracks like "Paul Baloff", ILL BILL kept this album pretty diverse. A lot of dedications were expressed through this album, as if it were a speech he would give at the Grammys. But this ain't no sugarcoated pussy shit, so he twisted it into "The Grimy Awards" (had to add that in because I didn't know the meaning of the title until I bought the album and read the insert). But anyways. This track right here is a dedication to the producer of the song, legendary DJ Premier. You could probably figure that out by the sound of the beat if I hadn't told you that. This track's gotta classic hip-hop vibe and makes you feel like you've stepped into the past. Check it.

"The Grimy Awards" boasts features from Jedi Mind Tricks, Cormega, Lil' Fame and Q-Unique

Here's a new video with 2012 XXL Freshman, Hopsin, and his fellow label mates from Funk Volume, Dizzy Wright and DJ Hoppa. The cypher was hosted by TeamBackPack, with the beat produced by Hopsin. Hop seemed a little under the weather or something, but he still had an alright verse. Check it out!

New Joint: "Mr. International" - DJ Revolution

DJ Revolution drops this sonic mash up of sound samples scratched into this wicked mix. You can find this new joint featured on the DJBooth.net & Event Electronics 20/20 music series compilation.

Download "Mr. International" - DJ Revolution
Having rocked club dancefloors throughout Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand as well as across the Americas, DJ Revolution has earned the right to the title “Mr. International.” Precisely what makes him such a hot global commodity, you ask? On his latest feature, making its world premiere as entry #16 in The DJBooth and Event Electronics’ 20/20 Music Series, the Long Beach resident performs a full demonstration of his much-vaunted skills behind the wheels of steel, slicing and dicing dozens of rap quotables into an intricate sample collage around the theme of international travel.

The virtuosic result is sure to have hardcore heads playing “Spot the Sample.” In fact, I’ll get you started: Jay-Z‘s 'What More Can I Say', LL Cool J‘s 'Feel the Beat', Royal Flush’s 'Iced Down Medallions', De La Soul’s 'The Bizness'... you can take it from there. Like what you’re hearing? Keep it locked for further world premieres throughout the remainder of November.

Legendary Turntablist DJ Rob Swift Returns for a Special Showcase

Rob Swift graced the DMC stage Saturday night, with a musical display of turntable artistry. Similar to his latest trailblazing album, The Architect, Swift showcased his new innovative approach to Turntablism by effortlessly scratching over a Classical composition by none other than Mozart.

You can see a portion of Rob Swift's performance at his newly renovated website www.djrobswift.com or on his brand new youtube channel at www.youtube.com/djrobswift. Rob Swift's channel also features never seen before footage of the X-Ecutioners, including Roc Raida and Mista Sinista.

Having got his start as a DJ at age 12 from watching his father DJ meringue parties and older brother showing him the ropes, Robert Aguilar AKA Rob Swift pursued his love for music and joined the groundbreaking turntablist crew the X-Men aka X-ecutioners (Roc Raida, Total Eclipse, and Mista Sinista) in 1991.

Within a year of joining the X, he won the coveted DMC East Coast title, becoming world renowned as a master beat juggler. In 2001, Rob Swift was featured in the DJ documentary SCRATCH (Palm Pictures). He has appeared on ESPN, The Late Show with David Letterman, and even Sesame Street.

In 2008, Rob was the first Hip Hop DJ invited to perform at the Savannah, Georgia Jazz Festival. He has collaborated with artists from many genres including Blue Man Group, Herbie Hancock, Bob James, Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Dan The Automator, Fat Joe, Cypress Hill and many others.

Whether working solo, in a group setting as part of Ill Insanity (featuring former X-Men Total Eclipse and Precision) or collaborating with other like-minded artists, Rob Swift is always in perpetual motion, pushing the boundaries of what he does and connecting with audiences by all means necessary.
